Episode 31. Christina in Arizona

In this episode, I am talking with Christina in Arizona. Christina lost her mother, Catherine Rodriquez, to COVID on June 22, 2020 and she and I have a lot of similarities in our stories. Her mother had early onset Alzheimer's. My mother had Alzheimer's from a traumatic brain injury. We were both locked out of their long term care facilities and our mothers died alone. Christina's story is so heartbreaking because she had so little communication from the assisted living facility where her mother was.

Christina has found a grief support family in her volunteer work with the organization Marked by COVID and she is the Arizona lead for that nonprofit. She also mentions the Million Trees Project and our hope for a national COVID memorial. Here are all those links.

For context on this interview and the ever-changing pandemic, we recorded this episode on May 24, 2022.
