Show Notes

In this episode, I will be talking with Mandy in Oregon. Mandy lost her dad, Brad Shroyer, on August 15, 2020. Her dad brought his tablet, his phone and chargers to the hospital with him and a wonderful nurse at the hospital helped him keep everything charged and online. Because of this Mandy and her mom were able to be on camera with her dad 24 hours a day for the entire length of his hospital stay.

Mandy struggled with the weight of her grief and anger after her dad died and she created a logo to help channel her healing. It's called Grief in Motion and has the words, empower, kindness, compassion, humanity and love around the logo, but Mandy talks about compassion most of all and how that motivated her to reach out to others who have lost someone to COVID. She does this by posting every day on some online group to give support and comfort to people suffering.

Here are the links Mandy mentions in the show.

Rami's Heart COVID 19 memorial
InAmerica Flags installation
COVID Facebook group for friends and family

Mandy mentions a newspaper article published in the Roseburg, Oregon newspaper. Here is the link to a PDF of that article

For context on this interview and the ever-changing pandemic, we recorded this episode on July 6, 2022.
